I can't print records in Connexion client

Symptom
  • Nothing happens when the user tries to print a record or list of records.  However, the message of the day and Connexion Client help documentation prints.

Resolution

In some instances this is due to a corrupted options.xml file.   Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Close the client if it is running.
  2. Hold down the Windows key + R. This should bring up the Run dialog box.
  3. Type the following %appdata% in the box.
  4. Click Ok.
  5. You will now be in your Roaming folder. Drill down to your My Profile folder (OCLC > Connex > Profiles > MyProfile).
  6. Right click Options.xml or Options file. This will depend on how files are displayed.  
  7. Rename Options.old [If the new Options.xml file does not resolve the issue, you can restore the old options.xml file].
  8. Close that window.
  9. Start up the client.
  10. You should be prompted to choose an interface language.
  11. Do a search for a record.
  12. Test print a record.

Additional information
  • The creation of a new options.xml will not affect any macros the user has saved.
