CONTENTdm Administration (sometimes referred to as “server administration”) is a web interface for operations related to CONTENTdm server which stores your digital contents and serves them to your CONTENTdm Website. Using this interface, you can create and configure collections, manage metadata fields, manage admin users, harvest metadata, view statistical reports, perform basic digital content uploading and editing, and approve items and index collections, etc.
You must have server administration user rights to access CONTENTdm Administration. If you do not have any server administration rights, you won't be able to access this tool.
Upon your CONTENTdm subscription, a Welcome Email will be sent to the primary contact with necessary information to access this portal initially. The primary account holder can then assign additional users with various level of admin rights to work with CONTENTdm Administration.
To access CONTENTdm Administration:
Open your browser and navigate to https://server#####.contentdm.oclc.org (##### is a 5-digit number assigned to your CONTENTdm subscription, which can be found in the Welcome Email.)
Note: If you don't have the 5-digit number at hand, you can navigate to your site URL, (for example: https://mycontentdmsite.com/digital), replace "digital" with "utils/diagnostics" and hit enter. A page will show you the server URL with the 5-digit number.
Enter your user name and password (can be found in Welcome Email. Or contact your organization’s primary administrator). The CONTENTdm Administration Home page displays.
After you set up your Project Client, you can also directly access CONTENTdm Administration from there:
To access CONTENTdm Administration from Project Client:
- Open a project in Project Client. From the Administration menu, select CONTENTdm Administration.
- A browser will open CONTENTdm Administration page.
